Week 74

Another wonderful week here in beautiful Georgia

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope everyone had a great one even if it wasn't totally normal! We were so loved on Thanksgiving and got to spend time with a lot of members. So grateful for them.

I am so grateful for the challenge that our prophet extended to each of us. Gratitude truly does heal hearts. As I focused this past week on gratitude I noticed so many things change in my life. It is easier to notice all the little things I'm grateful for, the spirit seems closer to me, and it has kept Christ at the forefront of my mind. How cool that 7 days of saying something you're grateful can have that kind of impact! Especially being able to express the things you're grateful for to Heavenly Father, who gave them all to us.

It has been a great week of service. It really filled me with joy getting to do so much service for people this week. Especially since this is a time that they need it the most. I'm just really grateful to be a missionary and I never want to leave Georgia!

Love y'all

Week 73

Hey everyone! It has been a long but super great week! So heres the highlights

We had zone conference this week! Always so good. My favorite thing they talked about was keeping it simple. Because the gospel is simple!

So at the end of zone conference, we get a call that all the fire sprinklers went off in our apartment and it was flooded... we got home as fast as we could and thankfully that was not what happened. Our fire sprinkler pipe burst so the hallway was soaked and the roof fell through. But all of our stuff was fine! So this week we've been having people in and out to fix the carpet and ceiling and pipe. That has been a tender mercy because we've been able to talk to each of them and share a little bit of the gospel with each of them!

We've been able to talk to so many people this week in person and online. It has been so refreshing to get to share more with people.

The best part of the week was definitely President Nelson's message on Friday! I hope you all were able to watch that. It is so important for us to be grateful especially when things are hard. So I would encourage all of you to take his challenge and I know it will make you happier and bring you peace.

Have the best week!

Week 72

Hey everyone! A beautiful week out here in Georgia! I'm loving the 70-degree weather out here!

This week has been a pretty good one! I've been not feeling super great this week so it's been hard to keep doing stuff but we pushed through and a lot if awesome things happened! And a wonderful member brought me some stuff that has helped me get feeling a little better.

This week we had exchanges with our TLs! They both came to our area and it was so fun! They're the best.

With them, we got to go over and see our friend Pam! She's the sweetest lady that we have been doing service for a few weeks now. She has not been having a good year and so she didn't want to celebrate Christmas and tried to give us all her decorations. But we insisted that she needs to so we went over and put up some lights for her and decorated her Christmas tree. Nothing can lift spirits like the celebration of Jesus's birth.

The biggest blessing of this week was that we were able to get in contact with a bunch of people that haven't been texting us back lately. We even got to meet with DeMarco! He's been reading the Book of Mormon and loving it!

Just loving being able to share the gospel every day with those who need it! Have the best week!

Week 71

Hey everyone! What a week it has been!

It has been a lot of running around this week. We've had a lot of phone problems that had to be resolved. As well as getting a Covid test done for Sister Scott. Thankfully it came back negative. But we got everything taken care of!

There is the sweetest man in the Hamilton Mill ward that we met this week. His name is Fred and he is 89 and the most faithful man I've ever met. He has lived a long and devoted life to the gospel. Now he is pretty old, his wife has alzheimer's, and he can't see very well anymore. But he really wanted to read the Saints books. So we go over every week and read it to him so he can hear it. He is such a sweet man and such an example to me.

We got to do another lemonade stand with our district at the park! And we met so many awesome people! We also all went to Friday night Magic: The Gathering. What a time. It is actually a great finding activity. We had 4 non-members come! We have no idea what's going on but it's a good time for the elders.

On Saturday night, we went to the stake youth activity at the park. We showed up a little late and saw a guy sitting on the grass and assumed he was one of the leaders from another ward that we didn't know. So we walked right up to him and started talking to him. We asked him which ward he is in and he says "ward? I don't know what that means." So yeah not a member. He was just at the park with his kids when all our youth showed up so they invited his son to play with them! We went and played volleyball with his daughter and then invited them to come eat food with us and the leaders. He just fit right in and we got to talk with him for a while! We are going to go to one of his kid's games and go look at Christmas lights with them! We were definitely Italy led by the spirit to be there and to talk to him. They are so awesome!

Even though it has been a pretty long week and things didn't go as planned, we still saw God's hand working in our lives and it turned out to be a great week!

Love y'all!

Week 70

Hello everyone! Another week out here in Georgia and man has it been BUSY.

We had transfers on Tuesday and so I am now in a trio with Sister Armstrong and Sister Scott! Sister Armstrong is from Rexburg, Idaho and Sister Scott is from Herriman, Utah. It has been so great! And now we are covering 2 wards instead of just one so things have been pretty crazy.

We got to meet with our friend Kenny a couple times this week! His dad is already really involved in his church but wants Kenny to learn about other religions so he brings him to our appointments! Kenny is autistic and the cutest person ever! We love getting to teach him and read the bible with him. Wow.

On Friday, we got to have lunch with Wandle Mace! A good friend from Kanab! It was so great getting to see him and catch up. Him and his wife brought the biggest bucket of treats I'd ever seen. Literally they are amazing.

Halloween we got to get together with our district that night and eat some treats and play some games. It was pretty chill but it was so fun!

We've had some pretty bad storms from the hurricane that we got to do a lot of clean up for people this week. There were a lot of trees that got knocked over that we needed to clean up. We got to clean up 2 from people in our ward and then on Saturday we went to help another guy that is friends with one of our members. It was a MASSIVE tree that we had to clean up and if you want to see it there's a time lapse of it on my Facebook. But it took us hours to clean up and then after we had stacked it all up, we were told it was on someone else's property so we had to move it all again.

It really got me thinking about our own lives. We were out there cleaning up these trees that these people would not have been able to move on their own. And that is what Jesus does for us! There are trees in all of our lives that we will not be able to move with our own power but Christ can cut them up and move them for us if we just ask!

I hope y'all have the best week ever!
