Week 65 - finding Joy. Literally.

It has been a spirit filled week!

We had a mission devotional with Elder Galt. He's the area 70 that serves in our ward and he is a spiritual GIANT. Wow. My favorite thing he said was "testify of Christ, and life will be good."

We had another institute lesson on Wednesday and this one was all about Joseph Smith. And man that dude was a prophet. No doubt. We talked a lot about how all the questions and concerns about the details are not the important thing. If you have a testimony of God and of Jesus Christ and that The Book of Mormon is true, then that's all you need.

We got to help a lady in our ward move this week as well. We packed boxes, threw stuff away, and loaded stuff into the moving van. We did one whole van full so we did pretty good! It was a blast.

On Saturday, our district got together and we did a free lemonade stand at a park here in Suwanee. We handed out free lemonade and had a poster where people would write one thing they are grateful for. We got to meet so many cool people!

Probably the biggest miracle was meeting Joy at the lemonade stand. He has been searching for answers and wanted to learn more from us. We set up a time to meet yesterday and had a lesson with him! He told us that he had been praying a couple days ago that he could find answers and then he met us at the park and said he thinks that was his sign. He is seriously the coolest! In his lesson the spirit was so strong I could just tell that he is special.

Week 64

Oh hey everyone. Me again.

So last Monday our ward mission leader, Jim, took us out for dinner to celebrate that we are all staying here in Suwanee! I'm so happy to be here and to be with Sister Hendricks!

On Wednesday, one of our good friends from back at UGA brought us some delicious cinnamon rolls and man. I ate way too many. So was feeling really sick the whole rest of the day. We had service that day so we went to this house that a member is renovating to help clean stuff up and I almost passed out haha. Stupid cinnamon rolls. This is why you should have self control.

We've been working on our social media stuff a lot this week. Trying to start off this new transfer right! We've filmed some pretty cool people so far. Seriously everyone has such amazing stories of faith. The spirit I feel from everyone here is amazing.

Saturday we got to go to a cross country meet! Like half of the youth in our ward run cross country so we went to support them and film a video there as well. It was a blast.

Moroni 7:41 And what is it that ye shall hope for? Behold I say unto you that ye shall have hope through the atonement of Christ and the power of his resurrection, to be raised unto life eternal, and this because of your faith in him according to the promise.

Have a great week!

Week 63

Hello everyone! It has been a really great week this week. Its cooling down a little here and we are getting so excited for fall!

Tuesday we were able to have a little institute class with our district and we learned some awesome stuff to apply to our teaching!

We had zone conference this week over zoom as well. We were supposed to come having read and studied John 13 and I learned so much from studying it this time. We talked so much about love. And in this chapter, Christ knew he was about to be betrayed and killed. He could have turned inward and spent his last few hours focusing on himself but he didnt. He washed each of the apostles feet and served them. So cool!

We have been focusing a lot on the amazing youth in this ward and we have met some amazing kids and I love them all so much. We went to young women's this week and they were playing just dance and it was the most fun time ever.

We had the chance to go over to one of the area 70s who is in our ward and film a video for our page and WOW. The minute I stepped into their house the spirit was SO STRONG. They are an incredible family. I hope to one day have my own home that has the spirit that strong.

I got to go on exchanges with Sister Venema on Friday! What a blast! I love her.

Probably the best part of this week was when we went to Gainesville and volunteered at the Hispanic alliance with our district. We moved 20000 pounds of chicken in the pouring rain haha. And MAN I am sore and bruised but it was a blast.

This week I've had a heavy heart. Thinking back on 9/11. Hearing about the fires in California and Utah and all those that are struggling right now. But man how lucky we are that we have the gospel! Because of Christ, we all know that we can have hope even in hard times. What a blessing.

Keep having hope and relying on Christ!

Week 62

Hey everyone. WOW. What a busy week.

So on Monday night we met with our new friend Brandon. White Brandon. And he is something else. He would stand up randomly and just going on RANTS. Like woah. Then he prayed for us and we were all sitting there holding hands for like 8 minutes while he prayed that we would find our husbands SUDDENLY. Gotta love it.

This week I learned how to solve a rubik's cube which is baller. Literally makes me feel so smart but no big deal.

Also, we went to Cheesecake factory twice this week with members and it has been so good but also I should probably never eat another piece of cheesecake again. Yikes.

We got to speak at a youth back to school activity this week! I told them all about my days being Mike Wasowski. What a blast. I also got to speak yesterday at church so yeehaw.

Service had been pretty good this week! We went to a members house and helped her in her garden planting bushes and weeding. We also went to the mall and cleaned up trash out of the parking lot. I literally picked up a cup of tobacco spit it was nasty but we had gloves so its fine... sorta.

But the best thing was our Saturday. That morning the elders in our ward had a baptism so we got to go there and support! It was amazing! The spirit was SO strong. Then we left straight from there and got to drive to.... ATHENS. I got to go back to my first area!! Sister Hendricks taught a girl there that was getting baptized so we got to go and it was so awesome. I got to see so many people and places that I've missed a lot. And because we were in Athens, we got to get CANE'S. I actually almost cried I was so happy.

What an amazing week and another amazing one to come. Seriously the spirit that you feel at a baptism is unlike anything else. How blessed we are to have that priesthood authority to baptize and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. I hope you all have an amazing week!
