Week 61 - why am I listening to NF and doing a rubik's cube

Hey everyone. WOW. What a busy week.

So on Monday night we met with our new friend Brandon. White Brandon. And he is something else. He would stand up randomly and just going on RANTS. Like woah. Then he prayed for us and we were all sitting there holding hands for like 8 minutes while he prayed that we would find our husbands SUDDENLY. Gotta love it.

This week I learned how to solve a rubik's cube which is baller. Literally makes me feel so smart but no big deal.

Also, we went to Cheesecake factory twice this week with members and it has been so good but also I should probably never eat another piece of cheesecake again. Yikes.

We got to speak at a youth back to school activity this week! I told them all about my days being Mike Wasowski. What a blast. I also got to speak yesterday at church so yeehaw.

Service had been pretty good this week! We went to a members house and helped her in her garden planting bushes and weeding. We also went to the mall and cleaned up trash out of the parking lot. I literally picked up a cup of tobacco spit it was nasty but we had gloves so its fine... sorta.

But the best thing was our Saturday. That morning the elders in our ward had a baptism so we got to go there and support! It was amazing! The spirit was SO strong. Then we left straight from there and got to drive to.... ATHENS. I got to go back to my first area!! Sister Hendricks taught a girl there that was getting baptized so we got to go and it was so awesome. I got to see so many people and places that I've missed a lot. And because we were in Athens, we got to get CANE'S. I actually almost cried I was so happy.

What an amazing week and another amazing one to come. Seriously the spirit that you feel at a baptism is unlike anything else. How blessed we are to have that priesthood authority to baptize and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. I hope you all have an amazing week!

Week 60

It's been a really good week!!

We've found a couple pretty awesome people to teach this week! We are currently teaching 3 Brandon's lol. And a Herbert. We've decided that Brandon's are just the best.

We met one of the Brandon's on Facebook. Sister Hendricks added him on Facebook but we dont remember her doing it! But she saw that he was online and decided to message him and he is so cool!

We decided to stop by a less active lady and when we got there her husband, Herbert, answered and he is not a member. We got to talk to him for a while and he is so cool! He speaks 7 languages. We are so excited for him!

Our other new Brandon came from a Facebook referral. So glad that Facebook is working. We have put a lot of work into it.

We also had interviews this week! President Harris is awesome. He has such good ideas for missionary work and hes just so cool!

I hope y'all have the best week ever!

Week 59

Hey everyone! Another week! And this one was so long. Like literally eternal.

So on Tuesday we had zone conference over zoom. We had a couple general authorities on. Including Matthew Holland. Former president of UVU and Jeffrey R Hollands son. So we were having a little intermission to grab food and they say they brought in a special guest from the hall and Jeffrey R is on the call! He is my favorite person ever I was so excited. He talked to us for a second and left us an apostolic blessing. SO CUTE.

This week we went to eat with a family and the mom loves Twilight! So we geeked out about it the whole time and it was great. #teamjacob

On Wednesday we got to go play kickball with all the young women. It was so fun. This ward has so many youth it's amazing.

We are still working with Brandon! He is doing so well. He read the Book of Mormon chapter we told him to and he said it answered all his questions. He is my best friend wow.

The best thing this week was our car wash! Our district did a free car wash at the church and it went so well! Sister Hendricks and I stood on the corner and waved people down to come get their car washed. Such a blast.

Something that has been brought up so much this week is 3 Nephi 11. My favorite chapter in the Book of Mormon. When the people first hear the voice they dont understand it UNTIL they physically turn and look towards heaven. Right now, things are still hard and not how we want them. But peace comes when we turn ourselves towards Christ. Go read that chapter!

I hope yall have a great week!

Week 58- living my best life

Hey!! Another week here in Georgia!

So I'm now here in Suwanee, Georgia! And let me just tell y'all that I am seriously so happy! My companion is Sister Hendricks from Missouri and shes literally the best. All we do is laugh all the time. My roommates, Sister Brinley and Snell are literally the best ever. Sister Snell's brother and mine actually served together in Madagascar which is fun. Our district is also so amazing. Just so #blessed right now.

We have the best ward mission leader in the world here in Suwanee. He takes such good care of us. I will never go hungry as long as I'm here.

We've been meeting so many members with visits and meals and wow this ward is amazing. There is so much work to be done and we are so excited to do it. Sister Hendricks and I also got called as the social media coordinators for our zone so we are PUMPED to get our Facebook page looking so good.

This ward is holding church so I finally got to go yesterday! It's the first time since March and it was so different but so awesome. It felt like home being back in that building. They had a bunch of high school graduates speak and they did so good! We love working with the youth!

Sister Hendricks also has a friend back home in Missouri named Michael that we have been teaching with the sisters over there and that has been so fun! It's a highlight of my week for sure.

Probably the biggest miracle of all is Brandon. So back when I was at KSU, I taught this guy named Brandon but when Covid hit and everything shut down, he went back home and he lost contact with the missionaries. So fast forward and I'm now living in the area where he lives! So we called him up and we got to go to lunch with him and play tennis with him later that day. Seriously such a huge blessing.

I can't even explain how happy I am right now. Missionary work brings so many blessings and so much joy. In Preach My Gospel it says "The Lord will reward and richly bless you as you humbly and prayerfully serve Him. More happiness awaits you than you have ever experienced as you labor among His children." I have definitely found that to be true and I know if y'all go out and share the gospel with others, you'll feel it too.

Have the best week!

Week 57

Hey hey

A pretty good week here.

First off, I'm getting transferred! I am moving to a place called Suwanee. I'm really excited but so sad to leave the amazing people here!

Last Monday we went fishing and that was fun! Didnt catch anything but got some sun and hung out with some of the other sisters.

We had our zone conference this week! I love President and Sister Harris they are so amazing. We got lots of new ideas of things to do and learned a lot. We also got to play Disney scene it so it was a win win.

We have been able to do a lot of calls with members again this week and get to know them. We love them all!

Something fun that we did was get some of our district together and we chalked inspirational things on the sidewalks around our apartment. It was so fun and lots of people stopped and looked at them so it was a success!

We also got to get some service done this week. We got to help pack boxes over at the salvation Army, trim bushes for a member, and help another member clean up their house.

I hope yall have a great week and I'll talk to yall soon!
