Welcome to KSU

Hey everyone! My P day is now on Saturday so that's why I'm emailing yall. However, next week it will be on Monday so kind of confusing but just try to bear with me I'm just as confused as you are.

It's been a pretty sad week honestly. On Monday we packed and had our last lesson with Michael. Then we had FHE and said goodbye to all the branch members. It was really sad. I've grown so close to the branch and all the people we were teaching it was hard to say goodbye. But Sister Trussell and Sister Ashby are there and will take good care of everyone.

Tuesday was transfers. So we packed all our stuff up and headed to Lilburn. The meeting was really good but it was sad to see so many of my friends going home.

My companion is Sister Younger! Shes from Rigby, Idaho. She is fresh out of the MTC and shes awesome. It has been really fun getting to know her these past couple days.  We also live with 2 other sisters. Sister Cook and Sister Erskine.

The campus here is smaller than UGA but still a lot of people to talk to. Things have been kind of the same in that way.

We got to go to institute on Wednesday which was pretty fun. We met a lot of the branch members.

Here we can do tabling every Thursday. So we set up a table and a white board and write a question on it and just talk to people. It was pretty fun and that's something I wish we had at UGA.

Its also nice that this apartment has a gym so we've been able to go over there for exercise time. Much needed.

Yesterday our zone got together and talked about the focus for this transfer. Which is all about light the world. Sister Hall was in my zone in Athens and now she is in my zone here and I'm so glad. She is amazing. Nice to have at least 1 familiar face.

Also it has been confirmed. Elder Bednar is coming to speak to our mission on December 7th. I'm very excited. Our whole mission will be together so I'll get to see Sister Ferris and Sister Trussell and all my friends. 0

This morning we got to go pack bags of food at a food pantry and that was really fun.

Not much else happening here at KSU. Its Thanksgiving break this week for all the students so we are going to have to find something else to do but it will be fun.

I would really encourage yall to get into light the world. It's really amazing this year. The Christ child video is amazing. One of my favorites ever. Also, sign up for the text prompts and you'll receive a way you can serve every day. This is an amazing time to be able to serve others and make their holidays bright.

Jesus is King

It's been a pretty crazy week but so good.

Monday we got to go to Old Navy and I got 2 super cute dresses so I was very excited. And we got to meet with Michael before FHE and had such a spiritual lesson. We read through 3 Nephi 11 with him. This is the chapter where Jesus Christ come and visits the people the the Americas. And it is the most spiritual chapter. The spirit was the strongest I've ever felt in a lesson.

On Tuesday we had district council and we talked a lot about Christlike attributes. I've been going through the ones in Preach my Gospel and learning more about them and trying to figure out how I can better develop them. And it's something I really recommend. There is an attribute activity in Preach my gospel that helps you evaluate where you are at and the things you could do better. It's been a really cool experience.

Wednesday started off pretty rough with a lot of cancellations and people not wanting to talk but it really turned around. It was freezing cold but I got my big coat so I was pretty warm thank goodness. But we were not feeling very diligent because it was cold and nothing was going right but we decided we needed to go tracting still. So we went and we were able to teach this guy that we met last week and we got 3 new people to teach. And then we knocked on this door and this guy told us that he really wasn't interested in hearing our message but asked if we wanted some hot bowls of chili since it was so cold. So we got 2 bowls of hot and delicious chili. Such a miracle.

We also met a law professor on campus that stopped us and just wanted to talk to Kanye. He was telling us how amazing his new album "Jesus is king" is and how he's really changed his life around. He said he thinks we will probably get a lot of people that are interested in our message because of Kanyes album so. We will see.

On Thursday we met this really awesome guy Jacob! We stopped by his apartment to visit 2 of his roommates that we have been teaching and we met him and he was very open and we've been able to teach him a couple times.

We went back on Friday to teach Jacob again. We were talking outside in the rain because we weren't able to go in since a woman wasn't there and he was so happy to just stand in the rain with us and listen. And then his neighbor, Russ, came out and joined us and listened to the rest of our message. It was really amazing to get to teach both of them. They are awesome.

On Thursday I got a call that I'm going to be training! It's pretty scary but pretty exciting. So on Friday we went to trainers meeting. I learned a lot there.

Then yesterday I got the call that I'm going to be training and whitewashing at Kennesaw State University. I was pretty shocked. And it's pretty scary. But I know there is a reason I need to go there and I'm excited. Obviously God wants me at college because I'm just going from one to the next. But I'll be leaving UGA tomorrow and heading over to Kennesaw so it will definitely be an adventure.

I wanted to share this scripture about gratitude. It is Doctrine and Covenants 78:19
"And he who receiveth all things with thankfulness shall be made glorious; and the things of this earth shall be added unto him, even an hundred fold, yea, more."

As we are grateful for the things that we have, we will be made glorious. I believe that gratitude is how we touch heaven. So just remember to be thankful for everything that you have been given.

Bears and Canes

Hey yall! Another good week out here in Georgia.

We had dinner with Elena and Micah in the branch and it was delicious. We had spaghetti and I haven't had that in so long.

We also had dinner with a guy in the branch that is a very good cook. So we had the best pizza ever and Elena and Micah came and brought some friends that aren't members and we were able to share a message with them.

We were tracting the other day and Sister Ferris and I knocked on this door and they started yelling to come in and we got scared and ran away. Oops.

We have got caught in the rain a couple times this week. It's pretty fun biking in the rain and you can't see anything from all the water dripping off your helmet into your eyes. It's an adventure for sure haha.

This week we have tried to have more faith to find. We know that God will lead us to those who are prepared to hear this message and so we've had more faith in that. We were able to meet a girl that is going through a hard time and she said that everytime she has come to campus to deal with it, she has run into missionaries. It was amazing to talk to her and we will hopefully be able to talk to her again soon.

We had a game this week! It was really fun. We handed out hot chocolate to people heading to the game. I love doing that because people are so excited about it. And we won so that's always a bonus. We also got to go to Canes before the game to celebrate Sister Trussells 10 months. We love Canes.

Since its Thanksgiving season, we have a pumpkin in our kitchen that we write what we are thankful for and it's really fun. Remember to be thankful this season.

One of our friends from the branch, Micah, invited us to go to this Russian picnic thing with the people in the Russian department at UGA. It was really fun to go and talk to all the people there. And they had a little zoo by it called bear hollow that was free that we went to  it's a trail with bears and Bobcats and snakes and lots of stuff. It was really fun. We had some good conversations with people there.

This week I finished the Book of Mormon again. And I was able to pray about it and receive a witness that it is true. I think it is so important to continue to read the Book of Mormon and pray about it. I love the Book of Mormon and everything it teaches.

I hope yall have a great week!

Happy Halloween!

Pretty great week!

We started last P day with zone softball. That was pretty fun getting to be with everyone one.

We had some pretty great lessons with Michael this week. He has really grown since the first time we met him and he picked a date to be baptized! We are really excited for him.

We taught this girl named Jen this week. She was really cool. We taught her at her apartment which was really weird for me. I'm not used to that haha.

On campus the other day, I got a coke out of the vending machine and it would not open. We had to ask like 3 different people and it took us like 20 minutes to get it open. It was interesting.

And of course, this week was Halloween! We had such a good Halloween. We had zone conference all day. And it was amazing. We talked so much about our personal progression and how we can become more. I loved it. After zone conference, we went to the stake center as a zone and played volleyball and ate snacks and things since we aren't allowed to proselyte on Halloween night. It was such a blast.

We did a lot of tracting this week. It was long days but we had a lot of fun and talked to a lot of very cool people.

We talked a lot about trials of faith this week. And we talked about how trials of faith are the ways that we grow and how they are a good thing. We talked about how we should volunteer for these trials of faith because they are the way that we grow and so that's something that I've been praying about a lot lately.

That's all that I have this week!
